Hey guys, sorry I haven’t written a blog at all this whole time, I will try my best to write more in the future. For this blog though, I’ll be talking about my experiences at training camp and domestic ministry and also my experiences here in Jamaica.

Training camp was a big kind of shock by how I had to sleep in the Georgia heat in my tent, eat a bit less food then usual, and biggest curve or shock was the people and how I had to get to know so many people at once and yeah it was a lot. It was a lot of teachings and a lot of worship which I was not used to. The teachings and worship sometimes went for over 2 hours and me and my adhd was very tested I’ll say that. It was very hard to sit through, especially when I thought everyone was crazy and I was still more new to taking my faith seriously for the first time and yeah. I got baptized which was cool and I saw it as like a big step and declaration of my faith and yeah. Moving on to something that I thought was soooooo cool was that one day after a teaching and worship I was just really homesick and was telling my good friend Conrad I would pay so much money for a hug from my mom, literally TWO seconds after that, one of the mentors on our squad Caroline came up to me and said “I feel like I need to give you a hug right now” and It was the best hug ever and just know that that was God and not a coincidence and felt so seen by Him. Overall it was a great experience at training camp and met so many great people and had so much fun.

Domestic ministry was my first look at what ministry can look like in manual labour and just doing it for God. We got there it was literally luxury compared to training camp. We got a big room full of pretty nice bunk beds with a bathroom and showers and AC!!! We also got to eat so much good food and nice hang out spot in the AC. The manual labour was pretty fun aswell at the start because we got to drive a side by side with a trailer and with like 7 guys just cutting down trees and picking up cut down branches and yeah that was super fun. Then by the end we weren’t allowed to use it anymore and needed leader person to drive it. Also they had a pool which was fire and great refresher at the end of a long day. Domestic was so fire and got so close with some people from the other squads like Robin the Goat and yeah.

Jamaica has been a roller coaster of emotions and learning. I have never been this uncomfortable in so many different ways it’s crazy, from having almost no time or place to be alone in AC or sleeping in this abandoned concrete building full of dust in Jamaican hot weather. It’s been pretty crazy but learning so much through the uncomfortable stuff and how I am almost too comfortable at home and how we have it so good back at home and yeah it just crazy. Other than that we have spent first week here roofing houses. Pretty much what we do is rip of the sheets of old zinc from their existing roof then had some more wood beams that are not rotting  and screw in new sheets of zinc and then leave and boom, that’s one day of 4 then yesterday was Friday which is our adventure days. For our adventure day we all went to the beach and had a great time swimming and drinking Pina coladas. Next week will be the same and idk what the adventure day will be.

So that’s what I have been doing this past month and sorry again for not doing a blog all this time will probably make one every two weeks most likely. Thank you for taking the time to read this and cya.
